The Younger Members of the Dumfries Junior Club made the Trip to the first Asham U14 Event at Braehead at the weekend.  With five teams in the draw and other members playing in a variety of teams it was set for a great showing.  All the teams equiped themselves very well and had some close games. A great start to the season and good reports coming back from Local Coach Billy Green who went to watch the action.

Team Anderson  put on a good all round performance for the day and picked up   some good ranking points.

Team Stewart were excellent throughout the event as the new team enjoyed   competing. On route to 2nd place in the Low Road they beat the eventual winners   from Stranraer.

Team Carson put on a good show finishing 3rd and the best of the Dumfries Teams   narrowly missing out on a place in the final as they were edged out by the eventual  winners.

A special mention should be made to the 2 DYC Club Teams that were put together for the event as they joined the competitive circuit for the first time.  Showing a great attitude and enjoying the experience they both exceeded expectations and learnt a lot from the experience.  Watch this space as these teams start to grow in confidence and gain experience.

A Good mixture of performances and more importantly all the teams working hard for each other showing a true team effort.

Overall a good start to the U14 campaign as the teams put on some great performances, with a little more work to be done on tactics these teams wont be far away at the end of the U14 Grand Slam.

Well done everyone keep up the good work, full gallery below
